Environment has supreme life source for the living matters in earth. Food, shelter, clothes, water, sunlight, air or any other substance for supporting life, everything is provided to us by the environment either directly or indirectly. However, the rapid growth in urbanization and industrialization has badly disturbed the balance of environment. Objective of this course is to develop scientific professionals, who will protect the environment we live in. Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary study which concerns the application of scientific techniques to dissolve environment issues. This study provides integrated, qualitative and quantitative approach to study about the environmental systems. Environmental Science amalgamates physical and biological sciences together to learn about the environment, and its problem. The process of cleaning air, noise abatement, water protection, pollution control, waste management etc., calls for new services have helped in creating numerous jobs. Environmental scientists work on subjects like the understanding of earth processes, evaluating alternative energy systems, pollution control and mitigation, natural resource management, and the effects of global climate change. Environmental issues almost always include an interaction of physical, chemical and biological processes. Environmental scientists bring a systematic approach to the analysis of environmental problems. The institute provides regular mode two year Post Graduate course in Environmental Science. The duration of this course is two years and the minimum eligibility criterion in this regard is a B.Sc. degree in Environmental Science or any other related science subject. After completing M.Sc. the students can choose for M.Tech. program in Environmental Science for a better career in environmental industry. Apart from these, students can also opt for Post Graduate Diploma programs in Environmental Science and Environment Management, Doctoral or Post-doctoral programs for a better career. Environmental Science as a career offers immense job opportunities. The word ‘Environmental Science’ incorporates within it several activities for the protection of the environment. This in turn creates job opportunities as environmental scientists, professors, environmental biologists, environmental modelers, environmental engineers and environmental journalists.
